A Call to Action Oconee (ACTA Oconee) uses the Green Dot program developed by Dorothy Edwards, PhD. from the University of Kentucky. Her research showed a 50% reduction in dating abuse over a 5-year span when implemented in Kentucky high schools. We believe that in order to change the incidences of power-based abuse, we must first change the attitude of the entire community. We must believe that it IS a problem, that it is OUR problem, and that we must ALL do something to create change.
Classes should have a minimum of 8-10 participants in order to maximize the discussion and the participation in interactive scenarios.
